Great Challenge for the day! Heck, great challenge for the rest of the year!

Bounce and Slide Texas

Every day, we are filled with choices about how we ought to live our life. There are constant opportunities grow closer to one another through love and kindness. On the other hand, there are also constant opportunities to divide one another with hate and anger. Watching the news on any given night, you will see (at least portrayed through the eyes of the media) a world filled with hate and anger. Murders, robberies, gangs, violence, all happening all the time. It’s part of the world that we live in. Even the world of politics has become so divided that people with different political views often can’t stand the site of one another. But every once in a while, you will see a story of heroism, bravery, or a random act of kindness from a complete stranger.

Call me what you will, but I refuse to look at the world through…

Are Your Sales Going UP?

It should come as no surprise that we feel as though Event Rental Systems has the best software for the party rental industry. We feel that our real-time online ordering isn’t matched by our competition. Not to mention the routing system that can save you (as it did our jump company) thousands of dollars a year. As fuel prices rise, it’s great to have a tool that can help you save. But you already know how we feel. This blog is all about you. We want to know how you feel about Event Rental Systems.

Spring is quickly approaching, and business is getting, well…busy. So, the question is this (if you have time to answer): Have you compared your sales reports prior to being a customer of Event Rental Systems to sales reports since being a customer of ours? If so, have you seen increases in your sales since switching to Event Rental Systems. We often see people say (in places like the Moonwalk Forum) that our software is great because you can take orders even while you’re sleeping. But have those orders led to an increase in sales? What about the Routing System? Have you seen an increase in fuel savings since using our routing system like we did? If so, on average, how much do you save a month?

We are constantly trying to improve the service and products that we provide to our customers, and want to make sure that the claims that we make are actually backed up by the people that use our products every day. So, if you don’t mind, let us know what you think. Any information that you would be willing to provide will greatly assist us in helping make Event Rental Systems even better.

Annoying Ads

If your email inbox looks anything like mine, it’s filled with daily emails selling the latest product from different companies. In fact, I get emails daily from the same companies. They are constantly trying to sell me something. In fact, I can’t even tell you what they are trying to sell me because I don’t even open the emails any more. The more emails I get from a company telling me what a great deal they have, the more I don’t want to use their services. Don’t get me wrong, I love good advertising, and there are companies that I will actually use solely because of their marketing techniques.

Is your marketing plan like so many other companies out there? I understand the need to keep your company at the front of your customer’s minds (especially in the bounce house industry that has customers that may only rent your product once a year). But what if I told you there was a better way to grab a hold of your customer’s attention?

Event Rental Systems takes a different approach to marketing. You will find that we offer done-for-you monthly newsletters to send to your customers. The bulk of the newsletter will share entertaining stories, recipes, how-to guides, and more. What you won’t find in the newsletters are advertisements for your company. We’ve been asked why we approach marketing in this manner? We do this for two reasons…to benefit you and your customers. We want to keep your company at the front of your customer’s mind by sending them monthly, entertaining newsletters that have your company name listed on every page. However, our goal is that your customer won’t even know that they’re receiving a monthly advertisement at all. We feel as though your customer will be more likely to actually read your newsletter if it is simply entertaining. Like me, most consumers don’t want to be barraged with constant marketing schemes. Then, when it’s time to book their party next year, they will remember your company because they’ve received entertaining reading materials all year long that have your company information listed throughout. We also offer blogging for our customers. Again, we will not be advertising your specials. Instead, we are going to be sharing fun stories geared toward your customers.

Let’s face it, people probably won’t remember what jump company they used last year unless they’re your family or friend.  In order to be remembered, you’ll need to do things differently than everybody else. Give your customers what they want: Great customer service with friendly, subtle advertising.

Spring

It’s almost here. The time we’ve all been waiting for: Spring. Spring marks the beginning of the busy season for most bounce house companies. Orders start flying in, and you once again remember how busy this industry can be. February marks an exciting time Event Rental Systems as well. We start to see a swing in business as many people decide to make the switch to what we believe is the best software in the event rental industry in order to be ready for the Spring rush.

This year is especially exciting for Event Rental Systems. We now offer SEO and marketing services to Event Rental Systems customers! As Spring arrives, you may find that you’re too busy to stay on top of your SEO and marketing campaigns. We can take care of it for you. We even offer newsletters that have been done for you. All you need to do is add your company’s information and send it to all of your customers. Need help with something? Let us know how we can help your company grow. Contact us at (505) 435-9731 to get your services set up now!

Version 2.0 is almost here! We’ve been working extremely hard to produce a second version of our software that makes it even easier to use (bet you didn’t even think it was possible)! We can’t wait for you to see all that it can do. Our goal is to have all of our current customers set up on version 2.0 before the Spring rush hits.

Finally, our sister company, POSLavu, is having tremendous success in the restaurant. We want to congratulate Corey and his team for all of the great things they are accomplishing in that industry! We are extremely proud to have such a tremendous programmer doing so much great stuff for our company as well.

How long has it been since you’ve touched the content on your website? Did you know that Google rewards websites that continually change and update the content of their websites? Little changes to your content can go a long way toward improving your ranking within the major search engines.

A simple way to make changes to your website is by offering promotions for different holidays (plus it’s a great way to market your business and reward customers). This is a great way to add keywords and phrases to your text as well. For instance, you may want to make a Valentine’s Day Special that offers a discount for “bouncers” rented in February. Keep in mind that the more relevant keywords you use, the better.

Event Rental Systems has developed a software program for the party rental industry that makes making changes to your website extremely easy. You can easily add a coupon for any promotion that you’re doing. You can also make changes to the content of your website with just the click of a button. We like to think of it as SEO made easy. Below is a link to a video that shows just how simple adding/editing the pages on your Event Rental Systems website can be.

So, there you have it. Now that you have the information, what are you waiting for? Make those changes now!

If you own your own small business, we all know there are a million things to do…every day! Sometimes we get so busy worrying about the little things that we forget the big things that really matter. You must prioritize if you want to stay on top of your game. Follow these rules to get your life back:

1) Remember why you went into business in the first place. Did you go into business because you felt like you could provide your customers with great customer service? If so, go back to the basics. If you accomplish one thing today, make sure that you have provided your customers with the best customer service that the industry can provide. Did you go into business because you have a background in marketing and thought you could provide excellent marketing to help your business succeed? Again, focus on your marketing strengths today.

2) Set a day to day calendar. I find it helpful to literally write out everything that I plan on accomplishing throughout the day. I am not a good multi-tasker, so I find it easier to work my way through a daily schedule. If I can see what I am supposed to accomplish that day, it is easier for me to work toward those goals.

3) Use business techniques that help free up some of your valuable time. For instance, if you work in the party rental industry, there is software that is available that can streamline your business. Freeing up your time can help you accomplish your goals much more easily. If you find yourself working all hours of the day and night, it may be time to consider adding some help. Again, hiring someone to take some of your load off can free up a lot of your time to focus on your strengths.

4) Take a break. I know it may sound counter intuitive, but sometimes stepping away for a little while can really rejuvenate your spirit. Do you have a family that you haven’t seen very much lately? Do you have any hobbies? Do you enjoy playing sports? Take some time to do what you enjoy doing. After all, if you don’t have time to enjoy life, you aren’t really taking advantage of all of the benefits that owning your own business can provide.

Just remember, life is meant to be fun! Work hard, set those priorities, and enjoy watching your business grow.

Hoover Duct Cleaning just made a customer for life. Let me explain. My wife and I recently had dryer problems that needed repair. While he was here, the technician told me that our dryer was not working properly because there was too much lint in the dryer vent. He recommended that we get the dryer vent cleaned out to help the dryer work more efficiently and lessen the chance of a fire. That’s where Hoover Duct Cleaning comes into the picture. We called yesterday at around 9:00 AM to set up an appointment. They gave us a quote for the job and said they would be there between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM (the same day!). The technicians were on time, well dressed, very friendly, and gave us a new coffee mug before they even began working. The gesture went a long way toward showing us that they were serious about our business. They finished the job, we paid what was agreed upon, and they left. We were happy about the overall service they provided. However, about ten minutes later, we got a knock on our door. The technician was back with a receipt and our check. He said he had spoken to his boss, that they agreed that the job wasn’t as difficult as they first thought, and they wanted to knock $30 off the job. We were already happy with the service, and they could have easily gotten away with taking the money that we had agreed upon. Instead, we voided the original check and wrote them a new check for the new amount. I have now told several friends and relatives (as well as the world) about the great service that Hoover Duct Cleaning provided us with. Not only did they make us happy, but I’m sure they will make our friends happy as well (because they are sure to hire them if they ever need duct cleaning). It is clear that the employees of Hoover Duct Cleaning have integrity and want to keep their customers happy. That’s just what they did!

This experience got me to thinking about how far great customer service can take a company. In the rental industry, the employees that make deliveries are literally the face of your company. Your customers will decide whether or not to use your company again based on the professionalism and integrity of your employees. Furthermore, they will tell their family and friends about your service (good or bad). Have you made great customer service one of your companies biggest priorities? Do your employees know just how important great customer service is to you and your business? If you haven’t done so recently, I encourage you to remind all of your employees to work with integrity and supply your customers with the best customer service in the industry. If you do, you may very well be the next Hoover Duct Cleaning!

As you are developing your marketing plan, it should go without saying that you should aim your marketing strategies at your target population. However, getting to know your target population can sometimes be difficult.  In your bounce house business you may have noticed that when you go to pick up your units after a rental, oftentimes you find older kids playing on the jump. Therefore, it would be wise to market to the older age group of children, correct? Not necessarily. While it is true that older children normally use your equipment, our reports show that the most common age for bounce house rentals are for children between the ages of 2-5 (older kids are invited to the party and use the equipment for longer periods of time).  Therefore, when developing a marketing strategy for the bounce house industry, your target audience should be geared toward mothers of toddlers. This advice can be especially helpful for those companies that are just getting started and don’t have a large inventory. Remember, keep your customers in mind when you make marketing decisions.

The world of business is challenging and requires owners to market to customers in new and innovative ways. Gone are the days of Yellow Page ads, or creating a website, entering tons of potential keywords, and getting instant traffic to your site. With Google (and other search engines) constantly changing the algorithms that are used to place a company at the top of the search engine, it is imperative that you use different strategies to promote your business. An advertisement in the Yellow Pages will no longer get you the business it once did. You now need to implement different strategies to keep your business at the forefront of your customers’ minds. In fact, studies show that you must actually contact your target customer between seven and ten times before they are likely to use your services. Use these four strategies to help boost your ratings among your competitors and keep your business growing.

1. Search Engine Marketing: Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is crucial to succeeding in the internet era. SEM, otherwise known as Search Engine Optimization (SEO), is the art of getting your website to the top of a search engine. Although SEM is not impossible, it can be time consuming and difficult. In order to have a successful SEM campaign, you must invest time analyzing certain keywords that are most widely used in your industry, and be able to implement them correctly on your website. The use of links is also crucial to a good SEM campaign. In order for a search engine to take your website seriously, it must be able to see other sites linking back to your website. If you have the time to set up your own SEM campaign, go for it. If you are nervous that you do not have the time or the computer skills, you may want to hire an expert in the field to help set up your campaign. Look for someone who works specifically for your industry.

2. Social Media: Like it or not, social media is now a part of our world (like reality television). Social Media is a great way to keep in contact with your customers. It is safe to say that people are spending more and more time online. While online, they are using social media sites such as Facebook. Make sure that you don’t barrage your customers with an onslaught of advertisements when you are posting on social media sites. Nobody wants to go on to Facebook to see your advertisement every day. Instead, post light hearted fun topics that people will want comment on (comments and reviews can also serve as a good tool to use when deciding what is working and what is not working). Save the blatant advertising for special occasions when you have really big news that you have to share with everyone.

3. Direct Marketing: Okay, so you want to actually advertise your business directly to your customers. Use localized marketing and geotargeting strategies to find out exactly what your customers want. Review sites are very popular. You can see what people are saying about you, and make changes that directly serve your customers needs. Sites such as Groupon are also becoming more popular as people try to save in the economy. These websites also allow people to learn more about your company. As an added bonus of using these strategies, you can see what your competitors are offering, and what people are saying about them.

4. Marketing for Mobile Phones: Mobile marketing is becoming more and more of a necessity. With technologies from iPhones and Androids, people are beginning to do more of their web browsing on their phones. Make sure that you have a mobile-friendly website. Get your companies name out to the mobile market by using mobile advertising. You may also want to use apps such as Foursquare for a fun way to promote your business.
